(More customer reviews)I purchased two of these and both came with creases that I can't get out and pie dough still sticks to it; especially butter pastry. The third time that I used one at my son's restaurant, I picked it up off of the counter and the entire right side ripped off. (The day before Thanksgiving and I had about a dozen pies to make!)So I guess I will order something a little thicker and more expensive.

Magic Dough Non Slip Flexible Pastry Mat Review

(More customer reviews)The mat is wonderful for rolling out pastries, and I was surprised by the utility of the measuring circles that are printed on it. But I was seeking to replace a much heftier board, and for kneading stiff bread dough, the "non-slip" feature simply wasn't up to the task. The lateral motion used in kneading overcame the friction between the underside of the mat and the wooden table it rests on. It didn't go flying across the room, mind you, but it did have an annoying tendency to wander.
On the other hand, being able to roll the mat up and tuck it out of the way, rather than find room for a large board, has been a definite plus.

(More customer reviews)the most irritating thing about this mat is its permanent crease. upon further examination, you can even see it clearly in the photos on the product page. it has a persistent hump in the center, which sort of defeats the purpose of this item and makes it much more difficult to work with dough.
the ruler and circles are nice, but the mat (as mentioned in other reviews) does need to be floured every time, and since the hump won't go away, it makes it difficult to keep the central portion of your dough from sticking to the mat because the flour falls off to the sides.
mat is also extremely easy to cut, as i realized the first time i used it with a dull dough knife. oops.
save your bucks, the counter is far easier to clean. recipes are nice but surely not worth the investment.
