(More customer reviews)I own a set of these as well as Pyrex glass storage boxes (a set of 3 square ones, 0.75L, 1.5L and 2.6L). I love them both. The majority of the containers in this set are smaller than the Pyrex ones. When I first saw them in a store, I had thought that they were too small to be useful (I use them to store leftovers), so I bought the Pyrex set instead. After using the Pyrex ones, I found them to be too big often times and hated having them take up rooms in my frig when they are half-empty (they are also heavy on the shelves). I went back to the store soon after to get this set and it's an excellent compliment to my Pyrex set. The glass is heavier than the Pyrex glass. The lids are water-tight while the Pyrex ones are not. They are dishwasher safe. I am so satisfied with them that I gave a set to my mother-in-law. I gave 4 stars because sometimes snapping open or close the lid on the largest size can put strains on my hands.

(More customer reviews)I've had this bowl and lid for Years, using it multiple times a week while raising my children, routinely using it in the microwave, and always running it through the dishwasher. After many years, the dishwasher has left its etching, but the bowl is rock solid and the measurement lines are still clearly visible. Even the plastic lid is still in good shape!
No toxic chemicals from glazes or plastics, inexpensive, a solid work horse, so it is just the sort of item our grandparents would have used all of their lives without thinking they needed something newer, better, or fancier.

(More customer reviews)Pyrex doesn't need a review--it's great stuff. Non-pourous so it doesn't soak up tastes and smells that can never be washed out. Tough and beautiful, Pyrex does it all.
So the bowls are a no brainer, but why buy these instead of others. The tops of course are the difference. I've found that most Pyrex bowls with tops I had looked at didn't fit on their bowls very well or were made out of materials which didn't seem like they would outlast me--as they should. These tops are durable, make a good seal that wont pop off or leak. And they're labeled with the various volumes of the bowls.
The size range of the set is also very good--from one the size of a cereal bowl to one large enough for a pot-luck salad without being so big that it wouldn't fit in a kitchen cabinet--and they all fit inside each other without the smaller ones rising above the rims of the larger ones.
You can put all the bowls inside each other then close them all up with the largest top--with enough room to put paper towels between each bowl and the next for safety.

Kinetic Go Green Glass Lock 16 Piece Set Review

(More customer reviews)I'm always willing to pay for quality, and I'd buy these again. The drawbacks versus Pyrex are that Kinetic doesn't sell sizes as large as Pyrex, and that Pyrex can be used in the oven and these can't. But the lids on these are way better than Pyrex lids.
The thing that bothers me is they come with a big warning that says "Do NOT store these with the lids on." First of all, they ship with the lids on. Second, it sounds as though they don't want to stand behind their product in that if you do what any normal person would do, I guess they're saying the gaskets will fail on your or something. I contacted the company about this and did not receive a response. Anyway, if you follow the directions, I guess you're supposed to have loose lids floating around in your cabinet, which is a step back from Rubbermaid. I store them with the lids on (but not snapped). We'll see how that goes. Even if the gaskets deteriorate and become non-water-tight, the lids would still be better than Pyrex, so I still give these 4 stars.
