(More customer reviews)I purchased the 8.4 cup, tall lock and lock container. I was looking for something tall enough to hold spaghetti. The tall containers I had found in grocery and discount stores that hold cereal are just a hair short of being tall enough. This container is tall enough and, like all the other lock and lock products, easy to open and close. They are made of good quality plastic, seal well, and have a variety of shapes and sizes. This is a good product but hard to find at local stores.

(More customer reviews)I don't know about the merchant, but this PRODUCT is great! I've had my Lock & Lock containers for about three years--have had no leaks and no broken lids. The containers are sturdy and the seal is so tight that you can put anything--liquid or whatever in them--snap the lid down and shake vigorously without spilling a drop. I've transported marinades, salad dressing, soups, chili...it was wonderful. I didn't have to worry at all about quick stops or starts. (Also if you take them to a picnic--nothing is getting IN the container either.)
They are easily opened with one hand without upsetting the contents--which make them perfect for children's lunch boxes. My mother, who is a stroke victim, is also able to manage these lids very easily.

(More customer reviews)I just love these containers and have them in many sizes. The thing I like best about them is that they are completely air tight and water tight. I use the smaller ones to mix salad dressing. You can store liquids in them turned on their side in the frig (very important for crowded refrigerators like mine) and never have to worry about them leaking. For the same reason they're also great when taking food over to someone's house. They can get tossed around in the car without a worry about spilling.
I use these for leftovers but also have my entire pantry filled with different sizes of these. They are the only thing that keeps out moths and those irritating little bugs that get into the flour in the summer. My pantry has gone from being a mass of boxes and containers to an organized space with everything easy to find. I like the fact that they are see through too.
The only time I've had one break is the one that I keep the blueberries in in the freezer. I dropped in on the tile floor which cracked it, I guess because it was frozen. But other than that, they've held up well for the 3 years or so that I've used them. I would never buy another brand.

I've found they work best when the items are put in as dry as possible, so dry them thoroughly and dry off the condensed moisture that accumulates periodically. Strawberries keep for 2 to 3 weeks as fresh as on the day they were bought. Grapes and cherry tomatoes also keep well for 2 to 3 weeks. Lettuce also keeps much longer, as long as you can get it dried; if it isn't dry, it still turns mushy, but it takes longer than if it were just in a plastic bag. I also use Lock & Lock in the pantry for dried fruits and for crackers.
