(More customer reviews)I have been switching over from plastic storage containers to glass body containers over the past year in the wake of data indicating links between BPA in most plastics, chemicals leached into food from plastics when heated in microwave, etc. The problem was, most glass containers did not have a good seal so the contents (cereal, nuts, kitchen staples) became stale rather quickly (we live in the Gulf coast so it is humid here).
I found these the other day and LOVE them! They have the glass body I've been searching for, a locking seal which keeps out moisture and are much more environmentally friendly that plastics. I do not microwave them using the plastic lid - I put a paper towel over the top and use a hot pad to remove it from the microwave. But I've been thrilled with mine and am in the process of changing all my containers over to these.
