(More customer reviews)This is a fairly handy item to have around if you need to mix up protein drinks and the like. The problems I have with it are that if you don't pre-stir the mixture powder gets into the lid parts and is very difficult to clean out. (The lid is attached to the top.) It is difficult to clean the lid because it partly doubles back on itself when you open it and you can't clean all of it when it is closed. Trying to get anything in there to clean it is difficult at best. Also, because the drink gets into the the lid when you shake it, when you go to drink out of the opening in the top it drips on you! It is better to take the top off and drink from the side. I've found that if I'm going to have to stir it anyway and can't drink it with the lid on - why bother!
But, that said, the measurement markings on the side are very useful if you need a certain amount of liquid and don't want to dirty a measuring cup as well and because it does have a lid you can take this with you. It seals pretty well and I've not had it leak.
What makes this cup a "mixer" is that there is a round insert with spokes like a wheel that sets in the top of the bottom part and is mostly held in place when you screw the top on. I think this does help it mix some.
I've found this cup at Whole Foods, so if you have one near you, you may want to ask about getting it there. It isn't really worth paying the shipping costs on this item.
