(More customer reviews)We bought two sets of the FreshVac containers at Costco. We had never seen them before and we really liked the idea. I dislike how other plastic Tupperware and Rubbermaid containers will "bubble" or slightly melt if microwaving food in them and how they stain with spaghetti sauce (which I make regularly). I haven't seen any microwave damage on the FreshVac yet and they don't stain. Like the other reviewer said, these containers do an excellent job of extending the life of fruits and vegetables (and any other food). I like to cut up fruit ahead of time and store it in these containers for my weekly lunch. The smallest ones are perfect for taking soup or other entree items to work for lunch too. No need to cover with a paper towel to avoid splattering in the microwave. All I do is lift the latch on the seal and microwave so the air can escape. And, they do work in the freezer. I've frozen fresh pumpkin puree and spaghetti sauce in the freezer using these containers with no issues at all.
I gave it 4 stars because there are two issues that I've encountered with this product. The first, is that if you accidentally put too much pressure on the lid to vacuum seal the container, the lid will crack. This has happened on the smaller lids, but none of the larger ones. Also, some lids (without cracks) won't hold the vacuum seal as well anymore. I suppose that means I should use the replacement parts that came with them. :)
Bottom line is that I love the FreshVac containers. They're worth the price and I'll be buying more if I ever need to. Cheers!
