I've been using Lock & Lock containers for about 5 years now and I'm still one of their biggest fans. This size is one of my favorite sizes for leftovers. It doesn't take a whole lot of space in the frig and is so airtight that even if you fill it with soup or gravy you can store it on it's side and it won't leak. And the best part is that the leftovers will last a whole lot longer than they ordinarily would. I've converted half of my neighbors to these containers when I've show up at pot-lucks with salad dressings and other dishes that have been turned on their sides on the way over with no spillage or leaks.
Why don't they ever put the measurements on these descriptions? This one is about 9" x 6" x 2-3/4". (I have a hard time conceptualizing sizes by ounces.) I sometimes use this particular size in my pantry because they fit in certain spaces with my other Lock & Lock containers, but mostly they end up being used for leftovers.
I converted my whole pantry over to Lock & Lock about 5 years ago. They are the only thing that keeps out moths and those irritating little bugs that get into the flour in the summer. My pantry has gone from being a mass of boxes and containers to an organized space with everything easy to find. Martha Stewart would be proud. I like the fact that they are see through too since I'm not very good at labeling things.
The only time I've had one break is the one that I keep the blueberries in in the freezer. I dropped in on the tile floor which cracked it, I guess because it was frozen. But other than that, they've held up well for the 3 years or so that I've used them. I would never buy another brand.
